My Mohawk cousins, my uncle's wisdom, and the history of the Mohawk people have all played an important role in shaping who I am as both an artist and a person.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-start=\"788\" data-end=\"1093\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\"\u003eAs a way of giving back, a portion of the proceeds from this collection will be donated to an Indigenous youth organization in the  Mohawk Territory. The flag gained worldwide recognition during the \u003cstrong data-start=\"1736\" data-end=\"1755\"\u003e1990 Oka Crisis\u003c\/strong\u003e and has become a powerful symbol of Indigenous unity, sovereignty, resilience, and the protection of Indigenous lands and cultures.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli data-section-id=\"1hj8dp7\" data-start=\"1888\" data-end=\"2214\"\u003eThis piece is also a tribute to my uncle, \u003cstrong data-start=\"1932\" data-end=\"1985\"\u003eDacajeweiah (Splitting the Sky) John Boncore Hill\u003c\/strong\u003e, a proud Mohawk man who had a profound impact on my life.
