Turtle Teachings – Sterling Silver Pendant

In Cree tradition, the turtle represents truth — one of the Seven Grandfather Teachings. With its shell marked by 13 large plates symbolizing the 13 moons of the year, the turtle embodies the natural rhythms of life and our deep-rooted connection to time, land, and spirit. It teaches us to move with patience, humility, and strength, reminding us to stay grounded and walk in alignment with the truth.

This pendant, titled Turtle Teachings, was created to honour those teachings. The original was hand-carved and engraved using traditional techniques to bring out fine textures and layered meaning. It was then digitally scanned and refined for precision before being cast in sterling silver through the lost wax method — preserving every curve, contour, and symbolic mark.

Each pendant is cast in solid .925 sterling silver and includes a sterling silver chain, available in a variety of lengths to suit your preference. The reverse side is inscribed with the title Turtle Teachings, my artist signature, and the .925 hallmark — a mark of authenticity, care, and cultural depth.
