The Chicago Blackhawks hockey club later adopted his name in 1926, although the team's logo is a stylized artistic creation and not a historical portrait of Chief Black Hawk.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli data-section-id=\"12aos6z\" data-start=\"1587\" data-end=\"1887\"\u003eThe bandana is inspired by the \u003cstrong data-start=\"1620\" data-end=\"1641\"\u003eMohawk Unity Flag\u003c\/strong\u003e, designed by \u003cstrong data-start=\"1655\" data-end=\"1685\"\u003eKaroniaktajeh (Louis) Hall\u003c\/strong\u003e. The flag gained worldwide recognition during the \u003cstrong data-start=\"1736\" data-end=\"1755\"\u003e1990 Oka Crisis\u003c\/strong\u003e and has become a powerful symbol of Indigenous unity, sovereignty, resilience, and the protection of Indigenous lands and cultures.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli data-section-id=\"1hj8dp7\" data-start=\"1888\" data-end=\"2214\"\u003eThis piece is also a tribute to my uncle, \u003cstrong data-start=\"1932\" data-end=\"1985\"\u003eDacajeweiah (Splitting the Sky) John Boncore Hill\u003c\/strong\u003e, a proud Mohawk man who had a profound impact on my life. Through his guidance and teachings, he instilled in me a deep respect for Mohawk history, culture, courage, and the importance of standing together as Indigenous peoples.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\u003cp data-start=\"2216\" data-end=\"2465\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\"\u003eThis artwork is created with respect for these histories and teachings.
