Eagle Claw Clutching Feather – Sterling Silver Earrings
Hand-Carved Tribute to a Sacred Messenger

In Cree culture and across many First Nations on Turtle Island, the eagle is one of the most sacred beings. It flies highest in the sky — closer to the Creator — and is seen as a powerful messenger that carries our prayers from the Earth to the Spirit World. The eagle feather is gifted during important ceremonies and life transitions, representing honour, courage, wisdom, and spiritual protection. To be given an eagle feather is among the greatest recognition's a person can receive — a mark of trust and sacred responsibility.

This piece, Eagle Claw, is inspired by that deep reverence. It was the second design Medicine Bear ever carved in wax. He placed an eagle claw on his workbench and studied every curve, taper, and shadow, carefully replicating its form by hand in wax — a process that requires precision and patience, especially at such a small scale. Wax carving at this level is delicate work: one wrong move can undo hours of effort, but the reward is a piece that carries both spiritual depth and handcrafted authenticity.

The final earrings were cast in .925 sterling silver using the lost wax casting method, preserving the fine detail and form of the original wax model. Each earring measures 1 inch by ⅜ inch and is finished with heavy-gauge sterling silver hooks for strength and comfort.

The back of each earring is hallmarked with .925, ensuring its quality and authenticity. Every pair comes in a  gift box, making them a meaningful gift or personal ceremonial item.
