Crescent Moon & Star Design | A Tribute to Matriarchs

These earrings, titled Moonbeam, were created to honour two of the most powerful matriarchs in my life. The crescent moon represents my mother, Half Moon Woman — a master of the traditional art of birch bark biting, whose wisdom, strength, and teachings continue to guide my path. The star honours my sister, Morning Star, whose spirit reminds me that even in the darkest times, there is light to follow.

In Cree teachings, and among many Nations across Turtle Island, the moon is more than a celestial presence — she is Grandmother Moon, a sacred guardian of water, a timekeeper, and a protector of the Earth. The stars above guide both the body and the spirit, and the morning star in particular symbolizes hope, courage, and the promise of a new beginning.

Each earring features a cabochon-set semi-precious stone, cradled within the silver, representing the inner radiance of the feminine spirit and the teachings passed down through generations.
