Crescent Moon & Star Design | A Tribute to Matriarchs

This pendant, titled Moonbeam, was created to honour two of the most powerful matriarchs in my life. The crescent moon represents my mother, Half Moon Woman — a renowned birch bark biting artist whose strength, teachings, and artistry continue to shape my journey. The star is a tribute to my sister, Morning Star, a guiding light whose presence reminds me of hope, resilience, and renewal.

In Cree culture and many Nations across Turtle Island, the moon is revered as Grandmother Moon — the sacred guardian of the waters and protector of the Earth. She governs the tides, marks the passage of time, and reminds us to live in rhythm with nature. The stars, especially the morning star, are powerful symbols of direction and spiritual clarity, reminding us to begin each day with purpose.

Each pendant features a cabochon-set semi-precious stone, nestled into the silver as a symbol of the inner brilliance carried by the women who walk before and beside us.
