The Thunderbird is one of the most powerful spiritual beings in the oral traditions of many First Nations across Turtle Island. Known as the bringer of thunder, lightning, and rain, the Thunderbird is a symbol of transformation, protection, and connection to the Spirit World. It is said to fly between realms, carrying prayers and messages between the people and the Creator.

This pendant was created to honour the sacred presence of the Thunderbirds — and to pay tribute to all those who carry the Thunderbird name. Among them is our grandmother, Lady of the Thunderbirds, whose strength, wisdom, and legacy continue to guide us. Her spirit lives on in this design, which brings together both the personal and the universal.

The pendant features a finely detailed Thunderbird rendered with traditional cross-hatched engraving — a method used to express energy, motion, and spiritual resonance. The design was first hand-carved, then digitally refined and cast in solid sterling silver using the lost wax casting method to preserve every intentional line and texture.
